Should you hire a videographer?

Posted in News, Weddings on February 10, 2011 by Wessex-Weddings.Com

Hiring a wedding videographer is essential if you want to see and live the day again.  Pictures are great but they are just a click at a particular moment.

There are probably many of you out there who are unsure whether you need to book Wessex Weddings or not. So I have dug out this clip from a happily married couple who decided not to hire a wedding videographer, and now live to regret it. See what they had to say.

Anna-Lisa and Thomas at Bickleigh Castle

A warm sunny day and fun from start to finish. Bickleigh Castle near Exeter in Devon was the venue for this lovely couple to get married.

Anna-Lisa looked beautiful and Thomas very handsome. The guests all thoroughly enjoyed their day and the party went on well into the night!

The Wedding of Maria and Tony

Last summer saw a warm and sunnday day in Dorset, for the wedding of Maria and Tony, who were married at The Guildhall, Poole.  Aussie Tony is an ex speedway rider and many friends from the sport were attended the wedding.

The Wedding of Sara and Steffan

Remember that weather most of us suffered on the 18th December 2010?

Snow, snow and more snow! Although it stopped a few of the guests from making it down from London, the wedding of Sara and Steffan at St Audries Park in Somerset went ahead and everyone had a fantastic time. On hearing the weather forecast I set off the day before and awoke on the morning of the wedding to scrape 5 inches of snow off the car. Staying only two miles from St Audries I arrived nice and early and got some lovely shots of the fresh snowfall.

The wedding was beautiful and Steffan was filled with joy and tears as he made his vows to his stunning wife Sara. Here’s a clip of the day.

New extra service from Wessex-Weddings.Com!

Posted in News on February 3, 2011 by Wessex-Weddings.Com

This extra service only came about in the last week when a bride asked if I could provide her with the Musical Montage of her wedding on a mini DVD that she could give out to friends and family when she sent out thank you cards. The clips last 3-4 minutes and is a great way to share wedding footage with lots of people easily and fairly cheaply. The mini DVDs only measure 8cm across so fit easily inside a card.

The cost of 50 mini DVDs with printed disk artwork is only £150 including postage.

The Wedding of Sarah and Ben

On the 30th December we  filmed a super wedding at Compton Acres in Poole. The weather was freezing cold but dry and everyone had a fantastic time. Here’s a little montage of the day.

2010 is officially put to bed. 2011 looking busy.

Last night I finished editing the final wedding of 2010 and it goes out in the post to the newlyweds in the morning. It was a lovely wedding at Compton Acres in Poole, Dorset, a wedding venue that has become extremely popular due to the whole setup being “just right”, from the staff, to the excellent food from Beales Catering, to the gardens, to the way the whole thing just works. We shot 6 weddings at Compton Acres in 2010 and already have bookings to visit there 5 times in 2011. We am sure we will get the call to head there a few more times than that before our diary is full.

2010 saw virtually every Saturday booked from the end of March right up into the middle of November. And with 2011 now here and the wedding fayre season now in full swing, it won’t be long before most of our Saturdays have been filled. So if you are thinking about using us, please don’t dither, as we can only be in one place on any one day, and once the day is booked it is booked.

Give us a call on 01963 23217 or  01202 805850 to check for availability.
